My father and I went on this trip and had a great time. For me, Le Mans is one of thse things you should witness at least once, maybe twice if things change enough, but would never be an every year requirement. The noise, the smell and the atmosphere is what is all about, the race in the background is secondary. Great fun though, and I'll never forget my first proper sideways moment, hood up in the rain on MXT's (they should be banned), in the dark and with Dad sitting next to me, calmly suggesting that I slow down a bit as we head for the wall one moment, the armco the next.
